Every layout starts from the container you have. Pick a size and the editor draws it to scale; custom measurements work too.

What you buy
Rafters, rails and clamps are what SunnyCal supplies. Your panels sit on top, and the editor matches every part to your container and rail system.

Fabricated for the container and fixed at its structural edge, in Standard and Virgin Island types.

Pick K2, IronRidge, ProSolar or another system. Already own rails? Mark them user-supplied and they cost $0.

The editor offers only the clamps that fit your rail type and your panel’s frame.
Every layout is reviewed by SunnyCal before you order. Structural engineering is offered for qualifying California projects; elsewhere a locally licensed engineer may be required.
Engineering supportIn the field
Storage below, solar above: at off-grid properties, farms, jobsites and specialty sites.
40 ft · Single directionA larger support configuration for full-size shipping container installations.
20 ft · Two directionsArrange modules on opposing slopes with a two-direction support configuration.
Use case · CommunicationsContainer-mounted solar structures for cell towers, communications, and remote equipment power.
Exposed sites
SunnyCal’s Virgin Island-style support has multiple operating positions, so the array can be lowered or repositioned for severe-wind planning. Site-specific engineering is still part of the review.

SUNNYCAL SOLAR · STRUCTURAL GUIDANCE
Explore how rafter spacing, support height, and solar-panel slope affect estimated loading
conditions for shipping-container solar structures.
Planning guidance, not an engineering certification. These charts illustrate approximate sensitivities to rafter spacing and support geometry.
Consult a local structural engineer for site-specific limitations and code requirements.
01 / SNOW LOADING
Closer rafter spacing corresponds to higher estimated snow-load capacity in this illustrative comparison.
